This is how you feel when you get to check something off your bucket list.😃
On Wednesday 12/6, one of my bucket list wishes to cook with a professionally trained chef in their kitchen was granted by super Chef Christopher Kearse of Will BYOB- Philadelphia. And not just any chef but one that has cooked at French Laundry, Charlie Trotter’s, Tru, Alinea. What?! I know right.
The experience was more than I could have imagined it to be, having the opportunity to learn and work aside such an extremely talented, humble, kind and fun individual was amazing. As soon as I walked into the restaurant his entire team greeted me with open arms wanting me to have the best time. Chef Chris’s sous Chefs Chris and Bob were so very nice. His restaurant manager/hostess Emily and restaurant assistant Jorge was so very kind.
As soon as I put on my chef jacket and apron and adorned my apron, I said.. “guys, I just have to say I’m having the best time right now”. Keep in mind this is before I was given my 1st task of chopping. Lol.
Every single dish I was able to add a meaningful finishing touch by assisting with the plating which I absolutely loved. And have always wished to learn the proper techniques of the same.
Sophia was able to be present and enjoy the many wonderful courses of French cuisine thanks to a special person named Terry that picked her up from school and dined with her.
When I came out to see Sophia, she said...”Mommy, you’re so cute, so happy”
Me- “I am so happy. This is so much fun, so great. I can’t believe I’m doing this and that you are here with me while I am”
I’m extremely grateful to Chef Chris for his kindness and expertise, he and his team will forever be in my box of special moments by helping me complete an item on my list.
I continue to believe in putting my wishes/intentions out into the universe and continue to be surprised as each one unfolds. Each surprise confirms my belief that it’s true.
All of you must try this spectacular cozy French restaurant, you will not be disappointed💋
PS- Next dinner party is at my place, so I can try out the plating techniques I learned, who’s in?
